Transfer
The transfer technique is used to portray a certain emotion or connotation by advertising with either a very respected or hated figure. This advertisement, a public service advertisement that advises people to join a car-sharing club, uses this technique because it portrays the dangers of driving alone by comparing it with riding a car with Adolf Hitler, a cruel German leader who committed genocide against the Jews in World War II. By doing so, the negative connotation that comes with Hitler’s name is transferred to the act of driving alone, so it persuades the audience to always find someone else to ride the car with.
